A stubborn knight, a bewitched girl, and drunken priest embark upon a perilous holy quest to deliver plague-ridden Medieval France from the ravages of a demonic war waged against mankind.
A crack-shot ace spaceship pilot is forced to stop hiding from her past regrets when her best friend's family is attacked by terrorists hell-bent on...something? The plot and the world-building of a solar system colonizing humanity take a backseat to what ends up feeling like a YA novel relationship drama.
Cool snake aliens attempt to plunder a valuable artifact from Earth, so the really female protagonists get sidelined for 4/5ths of the story so that the boring CIA military dudes with serious baggage can say "no".
